So far so good This unit blows when turned on it slowly builds up velocity until it reaches tornado velocity seriously Ive never owned a window unit with such force. I can see how it will cool 1000 square feet . Customer service is great the face plate had a missing clip and one was sent out promptly. Thank you much Doug

The LG AC has been working well and Im satisfied with the way its functioning better than the previous AC I had: Its incredibly quiet amply cools my living dining and kitchen area I like that the red light warns me to clean the filter when its necessary which is easy to access by the way the AC is constructed and the remote control is very useful as well.

Whats even better I can see on my phone how much electricity it consumed at any period of time. And this only one unit enough to cool down the whole 2 bedroom apartment

Best AC Ever

Absolutely the best AC I have ever owned. I used this to replace a much more expensive and supposedly higher BTU Friedrich AC and this AC keeps us far cooler and uses much less electricity. My Friedrich used to cut off the circuit breaker in our old house on every hot or humid day and that has not happened once since we got this LG Dual Inverter AC

Bad sensor???

I bought this in early June and had the first CH 02 code less than a week later. I called the number in the manual and was told they would have to order the parts 2 and that the man would call me early the next week. No call. Unit still quit regularly/didnt cool anytime the code showed which was every couple of days. Called again left long message and then talked to cust service. After nothing happend/no one called for 2 weeks I called again all the while still having no A/C in my bedroom in June and July every couple of days when the unit would show that code again and turn off. Called back. Was told that the work order was not approved????? Finally the customer service rep told me they would get the parts on order. The next week Bryan installer called and said he could come out to put in the whole new power box/sensor. Now it works just fine after fighting with LG for 6 weeks in mid summer. If you know there is a bad sensor why woule the company not fix it before it is sold??? I will not buy any LG product ever again if that is how this company chooses to deal with problems.

Quiet unit

I bought this unit approximately a year ago. I chose it because the product literature and reviews said it was quiet. It is quiet and so much better than the unit the replaced. I gave it four stars because it doesnt have an AUTO or ECO fan setting in addition to the 3 fan speeds. I think it should so it can be set knowing it will blow as fast / slow as needed to reach the desired temperature. A very very small issue that is my only complaint since it is used as central air.

We replaced a noisy 15-year-old 17800 BTU Friedrich that recently stopped working with the LG1822IVSM just before the current heat wave began. We have owned numerous window air conditioners over the past 50 years and this is far and away the best. Its powerful enough to cool our living room foyer dining room and hallway. Its super-quiet and easy to use both at the control panel and on the remote. We especially like the Dry setting which is often sufficient to cool the room by dehumidifying rather than cooling.

Replaced a window that had a swamp cooler

Had to replace the evaporative cooling unit and decided to get an 18k BTU AC and I am so glad. The 15Amp 240 Volt Circuit was not hard to install. Overall the unit is quiet cools better and the humidity is maintained at a very comfortable percentage compared to the swamp box

This is a fairly large unit requiring at least a 29 inch wide window. It runs on 220VAC requiring a circuit of 15 amps. It has sleep mode which is fairly quiet and its pretty energy efficient for how much it can cool.

Our 7/8 YO Frigidaire 18k stopped cooling. We quickly debated a new wall unit or mini split. We decided on the LG because of the reviews being quiet. Using for a little less then a month. I cant report if my electric bill will be less with the inverter but I dont need to blast the TV to hear it over the AC anymore. Two things I think LG should do with this model 1. Increase the fan speed for high to quicken cooling if the unit has been off and 2. Make the fan speed variable when in energy saver. If those two items were part the unit I purchased I would have given it 5 stars.

My older air conditioner which no longer worked made quite a bit of noise and was not pleasant to be around.
