Worst Washer/Dryer Ever

Where do I start, this has got to be the worst washer and dryer I™™ve ever had it makes me want to cry. It has ruined countless items of clothing, towels, bedding, etc. It can pretty much only hold 2-3 of my towels at a time, and majority of the time it still stops mid cycle or leaves them sopping wet. To be able to get through a wash cycle, I typically have to run it twice, and then at least another two rinse & drain cycles. Then the dryer takes about 2-3 hours to get them fully dry.
On top of all of this, one day it started making such a loud noise when I ran it, it sounded like it was going to explode. We had a repairman come multiple times and he said everything looked fine, but replaced a couple things incase. The sound didn™™t get better, and it was throwing itself around so much that the front panel popped off. I absolutely hate this washer and dryer, I cannot believe in the year 2026 we still have this poorly designed of household equipment.

It™™s a basic unit and it works. It™™s a bit loud and will be a pain to move but it fits in a narrow space.

We have only had it for about three months and after around eight washes, the dryer door switch has failed. We™™ve been without a dryer for over two weeks as the service provider is extremely slow. Wish it was more reliable!!

The capacity is very good for the size.
The water sensing feature is great for water conservation.
There is very little to no vibration.
The dryer is great, the drum size is large enough for this particular unit.

At first I was confused why the water in the tub was not filling up. This should have been in BOLD writing. This is an efficient washer that only uses enough water for the weight of the load. Very confusing.

Just purchased this appliance. First, the factory-installed dryer duct hose needed to be reconfigured to fit the building™™s layout. One of the punch out holes was defective and would not budge (the other was fine so it wasn™™t our technique!). Had to hire a separate appliance installer to actually cut it out. Got the dryer vent hose situated. Tried my first load. The dryer is very noisy when tumbling, with clothes or without. Now we will see how responsive the GE warranty service is.

The dryer had vibrations and needed to be repaired before I could use it. There was a dent in the dryer causing the drum to rub against part of the internal part of dryer. Took appointments to fix it but there was no cost to me. Frustrating.

Basket size holds more than I thought it would, given this is a smaller capacity unit than I previously had. I do miss having a Permanent Press Cycle - some of the cycle names are vague so I need to research those. Filter is tiny but seems sufficient. I'm pleased with how clean everything gets and the dryer does an excellent job.

I love my new laundry center! It's worth every penny and fits in a nice tight space. The washer basket was bigger than I thought, and while you can't stick a queen size comforter in it, you can get sheets in there Plus a bunch of other stuff. The clothes come out nice and clean and all of it is still there! This is so exciting after doing laundry at the laundromat for years!

I have had more than one of this style. I do like them this one so far has been really nice the other one was very loud. Wish you would change a few things just to make it look more modern. Overall I would buy it again.

This is my third unit the other 2 lasted 5 and 7 years respectively. If I had another option for my space I would use it. Works great at first but after a few years it becomes deafeningly loud during spin which is your sign that your about to need a new machine. The last one had a $400 drain pump replacement and then total failure a week later repair would have been over $800 so we bought another one. Hope you have better luck then I've had!

Horrible appliance. It cuts your fingers, tears your clothes and more. Do not get this. Dec has been giving trouble from day one and I wish I had returned it right away. Test on all our clothes and much much more. Lowe's needs to return this money

I really like the compact size and different settings/options. I had a traditional front loader w/d that took up so much space, this laundry center is about 6" narrower and gets my clothes much cleaner! Its very quiet and dries my clothes in a flash. I would recommend this to anyone.

The dryer attached to this model is awful. If any of your clothes have strings, fully expect them to be permanently warped or completely ripped from the clothes they're attached to. The strings get caught on the cheaply made plastic grooves in the dryer and they can't be covered.

It is a water saver however very little water. Does not get all the detergent out and you have to do a second rinse. Not sure after second rinse that the detergent is all out. Unit moves when spinning. Rearranged items and it still rocks a little. Dont like the self leveling legs. In my opinion I think it would be a much stable unit without them.

The washing machine can wash more than the dryer can dry. It does everything it™™s supposed to do very well. But if there™™s more than two people in the house I would recommend the larger one. For me being a single person it is perfect.

Lint filler sheds lint. Its components are easy to access but removing then allows lint to fall. A dust ting of line gathers on the inside of the door and generally easy to clean, although a nuisance.

This is my fourth one in 10 years, the first one I bought in 2016 and it lasted 9 years, which I would have expected from an American made appliance. When that one stopped working, a problem was with the motor. I happily ordered another one. When it was delivered, right away I could see some differences in the manufacturing no more composite wash basin, now stainless steel, and a few other small changes that were visible, obviously I could not see the mechanics inside, but I could immediately tell the quality was not like the previous unit. the replacement which when delivered the dryer you could hear a clicking sound inside of the dryer housing which sounded like there are still may have been a tag attached to the belt that pulls the dryer drum around and kept going click clack click clack very loudly, as its a heating appliance my concern was a fire if there may have been a paper tag in there, so I called the seller who came out and determine they wouldn't try to repair it, they would only replace it. They replaced it an the second one they sent, which was my third one of these units, worked however the dryer was Extremely Loud Like a vibration on the dryer tub and I figured I better just live with that because it was hard enough to get them in and out with the exchange. One year and two months later this unit the motor on the washing machine basin failed it smelled like burning electrical, which I thought would have been a capacitor, when I opened up the front panel and I could see gear oil pooled on the bottom floor pan underneath of the motor. I called ge, and of course the warranty is only one year. So essentially for $1,300 I had a washing and drying machine for one year that's around $100 a month to have a washing machine in my house. My space is very limited in size, including the weight of the machine (221lbs), which leaves me with only two choices the GE model and another brand, the other brand is much smaller, and has the same reviews of poor quality workmanship. So I am taking a chance and decided to give GE another try, maybe the last two that I had which were failures, were just a bad batch. I am giving GE this one last chance and we'll see how this machine goes. But my whole experience with these machines is the reason for my one star review, be aware, you may purchase this machine and have it installed and after one year be looking to get a new unit again, as the warranty is only for one year.

The washing machine is way too loud . This is my second one™¦..I don™™t have too many choices in my small space. This time around the dryer now gets loud during portions of the drying cycle. I don™™t run the washer and dryer at the same time even tho I know I can. I had Bodewell check out the dryer when the machine was a week old and the tech informed me that the noise is normal and it™™s a frequent complaint by all who own this machine

Washer main board and motor failed after three years. No help whatsoever from GE Appliance Service. They sent my service request to Elite Appliance Repair who are incompetent, over-priced, threatening and rude. Asked GE for help but was ignored. Do not purchase a GE product, they fail early and there is no interest in customer satisfaction.

I am very disappointed in this product. My issues concern the noise factor during the entire wash process and more importantly the design factor with the slanted plate that rests behind the washer lid when raised. The plate angle is steep which requires one to almost do a squat and a bend to remove the clothes from the washer.

I always use my filter and only dry appropriate items for the dryer. The amount of lent that I pulled out of places using long wire brush and Hemo stats was unbelievable seems to me would be a fire hazard. I was trying to attach pictures of what I pulled out of the places where there should not be lint, but when I click on add images, it will not let me post
