It works very well in my basement keeping it cool and dehumidifying the air. Have had it for 2 weeks and it has removed the musky basement orders and the humidity is gone. I had a GE 14000 btu previously that broke down and it never preformed as efficient as this Frigidaire portable 14000 BTU air conditioner.

I question these reviews because Frigidaire offers a chance to win some money if you write a review. Our experience has not been positive. Our unit will not keep the AC cycle on for more the 3 minutes and then reverts to the fan. It™™s not long enough to cool the room. We filed a claim and it™™s been over 2 weeks with no follow up even though we submitted all requested documentation. We have a Black and Decker portable AC that is amazing but this Frigidaire is useless. So disappointed that we wasted our money on this and suffered through a heat wave with no assistance. We should not have believed the reviews

I am small business owner who runs a business out of my garage. Ive had trouble keeping my work area cool as i am constantly opening the garage door to let my clients enter. My garage is s 380sq ft and gets really hot really fast. The unit that I had before STRUGGLED and I do mean struggled to keep the area cool, but this Fridgidaire 14000 btu unit instantly solved every single issue that was plaguing my bussiness. What's there to say. It cools really well. We had to buy this in an emergency situation where our central air went out & it was going to be a few days for parts to arrive. We used this to cool our living room & 3 small bedrooms. The compressor is a bit loud but so are window air units.The one bad design was that the exhaust didn't fit our window. The plate the duct attaches to is ment for a window that doesn't have a lip, my guess would be older wood windows, I'm not sure. I used 2 grooved pool noodles cut down to place the plastic seal in & smashed it in the window. This worked surprisingly well, I just used the included foam on the left & right sides to finish sealing it up.

Reply to comment made by Frigidaire. This until even in the hottest of days have not cooled off the area we bought it for even when it is 90 plus. We did not know thar a 14,000 BTU is really the equivalent to a 10,000 BTU. Which means that if I had known this before hand I would have never purchased this item Now I cannot return this worthless product and suffer the health affects I have to deal with being an asthmatic that needs sufficiant air conditioning so I don't have respiratory issues. It can't even cool off a room 250 square feet.

It's ok. The instructions really don't cover things like condensation management when it's not in dry mode - also the installation materials are not very adaptable. You make permanent cuts and use the sealing strip once on one window and that's it, you can't just move it around to another window easily, so the "portable" part of it is really oversold. They haven't designed the pieces that vent to be portable, or simple to navigate.

So far so good. I like the mobile app. It really kicks out cold air and removes hot air from the room. Tried in a large open space with vaulted ceilings and it couldn't keep up. However it is great in my media room that is 360 sq ft with low ceilings.

My Central AC unit went down in 103° heat. Found this Frigidaire at a store close by. Brought but home and...within 5 minutes but was plugged in and running. Within 2 hours my house was much cooler & the humidity level dropped to comfortable. I love I can roll it around to other rooms. I already recommend it to my ex (a retired hvac instructor). Easy to operate and,a breeze to set. Lovvvve it!

"Not worth repairing"

My portable air conditioner does not cool (in only the 2nd summer of use). Reset steps did nothing. Customer service gave me 2 authorized repair companies - the first company said the air conditioner "is not worth repairing". The second only repairs kitchen appliances and informed Frigidaire last year of this and yet Frigidaire still gives out their name.I will never buy another Frigidaire product again.

So far, I am pleased, but with reservations. The unit has never cooled below 72 degrees (this is with a window unit running in the same room). I don't really need it to be colder, but that does concern me. My space is larger than the recommended room size, so I suppose it's doing the best it can considering. It does take up a lot of space. If I could do it over again, I would just get a window unit. I still had to put holes in my window with this portable unit. I'm going to move it and see if it cools the space better.

We have 5 portable AC units that are came from 4 different brands. So far, Frigidaire is the best of them. It's very easy to install and set it up to running. The manual is user friendly. The WIFI function makes life easier. The App is simple to use and enough to control the AC anywhere anytime. Love this unit. In additional, the unit makes the room temperature cooler and faster compared to others under the same condition. We are very satisfied with it. Thank you.

It's big, heavy, and a bit bulky - not to mention expensive - but it does the job cooling a finished basement room that gets too hot in the summer and doesn't have windows and never had air conditioning. I have it venting through a dryer vent.

This was easy to set up and start running immediately. I like the child lock that locks in the settings even when not at home. Not loud and auto regulates based on room temperature. I have side sliding windows and was worried, but that resolved quickly.
